Time to stop rewatching that GamesCom teaser trailer for Napoleon: Total War. Today Sega released the first gameplay footage.

The new trailer shows players managing their empire on the world map and then leading them through real-time battles. Strategy games never really blow you away with visuals so Sega tosses in some cutscene footage in between the gameplay moments to keep things spicy. This is apparently the first in a series of videos, and it focuses on the game's story mode. You'll have the opportunity to command Napoleon's army or the nations opposing him.

The end of the trailer reaffirms the "February 2010" release window for the game. New evidence suggests that once the game is out the door, Creative Assembly will begin work on a multiplatform game.
