Skywind Uses Skyrim Engine To Remake Morrowind
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind's graphics were jaw-dropping when the game was released back in 2003. These days, they don't look so impressive. However, the game will get a significant face-lift thanks to an upcoming Skyrim mod.
The Skywind mod will completely remake Morrowind using Skyrim's Creation Engine. The Creation Engine sports numerous visual improvements. Dynamic lighting, improved draw distance and greater flora detail are among the technology's features.
Morrowind takes place on the island of Vvardenfell. This land is home to the dark elves and as a result has very different architecture than the human-made cities of Skyrim or Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The wilderness of Vvardenfell is distinct as well, with gnarled trees, building-sized mushrooms and large rock formations. The improved visuals from the Skyrim engine really let you appreciate the alien look of this region.
Skywind is being overseen by Eloth. Eloth has some experience in this area. He previously helped with Morroblivion, the mod that remade Morrowind with the Oblivion engine. He's looking for additional help with Skywind so if you're interested, head to the mod's development forum.
The first screenshots of Skywind, along with video footage of the Ald'ruhn area, are below.
