First Look At The Set Of The Wolverine
It feels like it's taken forever to get into production, but The Wolverine has finally started filming. The movie, which will be based on the comics by Chris Claremont and Frank Miller, hit a speed bump when Darren Aronofsky dropped out as director and experienced further scheduling issues when a massive tsunami hit Japan last year, but it's finally back on track with James Mangold in the director's chair and new locations set up down in Australia. And while the project only just got underway, we already have our first look at the set.
IF.com.au (via Superhero Hype) has posted a few images from the production, including shots of set construction and even some concept art. It seems that part of the movie will be set in a World War II POW camp and that at some point Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, will end up in the bottom of a well. Check out a couple of the pictures below and head over to the source for the rest.
A sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the new comic book movie will have Wolverine travel to Japan to try and discover who he is and go up against the mutant villain known as The Silver Samurai (Will Yun Lee). It was recently reported that Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima, and Svetlana Khodchenkova will have parts in the movie as well. Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) wrote the script and Mark Bomback did a re-write. Look for The Wolverine when it arrives in theaters on July 26, 2013.
