Spider-Man’s Suit In Homecoming May Be More Tricked Out Than We Realized

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Peter Parker has never really been known for his access to vast resources. As a result of this ever-present fact, previous silver screen incarnations of Spider-Man have had to rely purely on wits and the meager salary of a freelance photographer. However, those versions of the Wall Crawler didn't know Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. With that in mind, it now sounds like Tom Holland's version of the character in Spider-Man: Homecoming will show us a Spider-Man with more cool toys than ever before. Kevin Feige elaborated:

[His suit] can do a lot more than he even realizes right now. You begin to see just how much Tony Stark loves bells and whistles.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently opened up to USA Today regarding Spider-Man's new suit and addressed the teenage hero's technical capabilities during the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Although Peter uses the suit quite effectively in his Civil War scenes, there are apparently certain aspects of the costume that remain mysterious even to him. Much like the Iron Man suit, Tony Stark packed the Spider-Man costume with an arsenal of gadgets, and Peter is going to slowly but surely discover them over the course of his upcoming adventure.

Of course, we already know that Peter has started to learn about a few of the secrets hidden in his suit. The post-credits sequence of Captain America: Civil War showed him secretly tinkering with his new gadgets in his bedroom before accidentally stumbling across the iconic Spider-Signal. However, that's only the tip of the iceberg, and the adolescent hero will soon realize that Tony Stark's visit to his apartment actually yielded an insane number of tools for him to use when he helps out "the little guy."

Spider Signal Civil War

Although this may not seem like a huge deal at first, it really fundamentally changes the depiction of Spider-Man in Homecoming compared to his predecessors. The Spider-Suit is no longer a simple, aerodynamic disguise; it actually has functionality that could mean the difference between life and death for Peter Parker. Considering the fact that he's about to go up against a tech-based villain in the form of Michael Keaton's Vulture, the tools in his arsenal will likely become even more important. That's a nice change of pace, if you ask me.
