Legends of Tomorrow's Season 3 Premiere Title Promises Big Decisions For Our Heroes

Pretty much every DC TV series ended last season with a significant shift in status quo, but arguably none felt quite as jarring as Legends of Tomorrow. Sara Lance and her team followed up on all their other rule-thwarting by breaking the timeline and setting up an insane series of events to play out in Season 3. All eyes are on the next round of episodes to change the game when Legends of Tomorrow returns and the newly revealed title of the show's Season 3 premiere hint at our heroes soon facing with some life-altering decisions. Check it out!

Mick Rory made it clear that he wanted to go to Aruba when Season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow came to an end, so "Aruba-Con" seems to suggest that the team will finally make their way to the tropical paradise. However, something will happen during their vacation that will fundamentally change the game in unforeseen ways. The meaning of Marc Guggenheim's newly posted picture seems to be that events will transpire during the upcoming Season 3 premiere that send our characters to a point beyond which they will likely be unable to return. Possibly involving dinosaurs? Seems like the biggest decisions made in the episode might involved dinosaurs.

Faithful to the "crossing the Rubicon" wordplay of the title, the Legends will presumably have to live with the decisions that they ultimately make. No more Spear of Destiny to undo any of their poor choices, and no more firm timeline to offer them a simple do-over.

Based on this title and overarching description, as well as the light chatter put out there by the cast, it's beginning to sound like the third season of Legends of Tomorrow could have severe implications for every single member of the team. But now it seems likely that Rip Hunter and Sara Lance will be the two characters most influenced by this shift in status quo.

Sara Lance Rip Hunter Legends of Tomorrow

The reason for this is the fact that we will see two captains locked in a battle of ideologies. With Rip leading his newly established Time Bureau in a "by the book" manner, and Sara opting for a looser (and arguably more reckless) modus operandi, the show has built towards a conflict between these former teammates. It doesn't appear likely that Rip will become a villain and represent the core threat of the season, as the show has already gone down that road with the Legion of Doom arc. That said, it's becoming increasingly apparent that decisions made at the beginning of Legends of Tomorrow's third season -- which almost definitely involve dinosaurs -- will have enormous effects that will set the tone for the rest of the season.

CinemaBlend will keep you posted with more updates about Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 as new information is made available to us.
