Born To Fire Takes Free-To-Play FPS Into Closed Beta

Everyone likes a good class-based first-person shooter with a heavy emphasis on teamwork. But you know what they like more? A free class-based first-person shooter with a heavy emphasis on teamwork. Enter Born to Fire, a free-to-play massively multiplayer FPS title from Aeria Games, now entering closed beta.

According to a statement from Aeria, Born to Fire is a full-featured team-based shooter with colorful characters who never take the battle too seriously.”

Judging by the singly scantily clad, obnoxiously busty female character running around in a world full of heavily armored male team-mates, we can assume that “never take the battle too seriously” comment from before is right on the money. Seriously, Aeria? Everything about the game looks pretty decent when you aren’t so obviously pandering to the hormone-crazed 15-year-olds in the audience. But I digress.

Players will have access to five classes in Born to Fire including the Dual Gunner, the Point Man, the Ranger, Sniper and Heavyfire Expert. Each class has their own gear and weaponry, as well as a unique play style. There are currently a dozen maps to pump bullets into at the moment with even more on the way.

Perhaps one of the coolest features of Born to Fire, though, is the free-floating camera replay capabilities. The purpose of these replays is to allow players to capture their best moments and strategize with teammates, but I get a funny feeling Youtube will instead be overrun with 10-minute close-ups of the buxom beauty once the game goes live.

If you’re interested in signing up for the closed beta, head on over to the game’s official website.
