Yingpei Games, also known as Epic Games China (although they're not actually a subsidiary of Epic Games), announced today that new media assets have become available for the free-to-play PC exclusive, Mercenary Ops, which is due out this summer.

The game was originally unveiled a few days ago, but Yingpei wants people to know that they're stamping their official stamp of officialness on today's announcement.

Mercenary Ops Producer, Jason Sharp dropped a few comments in the press release, saying...
"In a third-person shooter, the online multiplayer aspect of the game always seems to be an after-thought to the single-player experience," ... "Because of this, we decided to concentrate on creating an entirely different online experience by looking at every facet of game design from that perspective. This decision resulted in a unique style of play that enhanced traditional tactical combat by requiring players to have a quicker, more aggressive attitude.”

If you couldn't gather from the trailer all the awesome features jam packed into the game, I'll run it down for you like this: Mercenary Ops sports fast-paced Gears of War style, third-person gameplay. What's more is that the game is running on the latest version of the Unreal Engine 3 with all kinds of physics-based destruction, so staying behind cover for too long can actually get you killed. There's also bullet physics to consider, with various objects reacting differently based on where they're hit and by what kind of bullet. Pretty awesome, eh?

We also have some fresh-off-the-media-block screenshots up for your viewing pleasure, which you can check out below.

Mercenary Ops is due out this summer exclusively for PC. You can learn more by paying a visit to the Official Website.
