Fighting game fans and PC gamers are now one in harmony. Things have really picked it up for the FGC on the PC Master Race front because joining the likes of Street Fighter IV, Skullgirls, Injustice and King of Fighters XIII is Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst. The Namco Bandai fighter is scheduled to appear on Valve's digital distribution portal.
There's no official press release to go by, so unfortunately I have no idea what the good and bad will be with the game, but if you recall Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, it was a pretty radical game featuring some kick butt moves, revamped story mode, tons of playable characters and plenty of challenging modes to keep the replay values intact.
On the upside, the trailer reveals a ton of details about the Steam Edition, including 38 free pieces of DLC content. Can you believe that? 38 free pieces of DLC? That's enough to make up for a full Capcom game and maybe a Turbo Hyper Edition and maybe, maybe a Super Tournament Edition.
Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst Trailer
Pretty impressive, eh? The game is set to release this winter... as noted in the trailer.
The only thing they don't discuss in the trailer is whether or not the multiplayer will see any sort of changes whatsoever or if it's going to be the same 'ole, same 'ole?
In the case of SNK Playmore, they took the time with King of Fighters XIII to completely redo the netcode so that online play wouldn't be trash. Perhaps Namco will make the same effort?
Regardless, they really are reaching out, especially after the moderate success of Dark Souls on PC, where despite modders having to make the game thoroughly playable and enjoyable, it was still a notable gesture toward a community who petitioned for the game to appear in the territory of the PC Master Race.
With Naruto, I'm especially impressed that they're going all out with additional post processing effects and additional screen filters to help give the game an even more refreshed and invigorating look than how it appeared on the now ancient current-gen consoles.
With KoF, Mortal Kombat and now Naruto joining the ranks, I'm now absolutely curious to know if the next EVO will still run games on consoles or if PC may be included in the mix? We've actually reached that point... and I'm impressed.
Be sure to check out the page on Steam for Naruto before they take it down.
