The long-awaited iOS remakes of the Phoenix Wright trilogy are finally coming to the App Store. Capcom announced today that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, along with direct sequels Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations, will be available for Apple devices on May 30th.
Ace Attorney puts players in the role of defense lawyer Phoenix Wright. In order to prove his clients' innocence, he needs to investigate crime scenes, interview NPC's and gather evidence. During the trial, he has to cross-examine the prosecution's witnesses and poke holes in their testimony.
It's an unusual series that might not be for everyone. Fortunately, you can download the first two cases in the first game for no charge. If you like what you see, you can buy the rest of the game for $5.99. The second and third games are priced at $6.99 each. Capcom is also offering a trilogy bundle for $16.99.
"I know that may seem high by iPhone standards, but theses games are huge, containing hours and hours of expertly written entertainment, and they've had a lot more work put in to them than your average iOS slot game or bubble-popping simulator," Capcom said on their Unity blog. "Furthermore, the first three Phoenix games have been more than a little hard to find for the last couple years, and I think we can all agree this is markedly better than the pricey eBay alternative, right?"
Each game in the trilogy sports remastered visuals on the iOS. There's also a new "Everyone Object!" mode, which allows you to tweet or email phrases from the series to friends.
It's been a good month for Ace Attorney fans in the West. A couple weeks back, Capcom confirmed that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies (aka Ace Attorney 5) will be arriving in North America and Europe this fall.
