Saw II: The Game Will Be Running On The Unreal Engine 3

Konami was proud to announce that their latest in torture-porn gaming will be utilizing the high-end technology of Epic Game's Unreal Engine 3. For gamers who don’t mind splitting open eyes, cutting up skin and slicing out membranes in slow motion with tons of graphical detail put into each procedure, I’m sure Saw II: The Game will be right up their alley.

Mark Long, chief executive officer of Zombie Studios commented in the press release, saying…

"I've used other game engines, I've written my own, I've used middleware and I've shipped sequels for franchises using other studios' tech set, and I prefer Unreal Engine 3 over all of them," …"The quickest way to reduce risk is to use a known, proven toolset. With Unreal Engine 3, I can promise publishers what I can deliver, and I deliver on time. Every time."

I still can’t believe Konami bailed on Six Days in Fallujah for a Saw sequel. Seriously? Solid Snake would have been very disappointed.

Anyway, Saw II: The Game is scheduled for release this fall for the Xbox 360 and PS3. I’m guessing it’s going to be another one of those cheap cash-in games that lands a bunch of 4 out of 10 stars.
