Maxis might be on the verge of announcing SimCity 5. A new trailer supposedly offers the first look at a new installment in the city management series that will be released in 2013.
The trailer (via Joystiq) is said to be a "pre-visualization" video. It's a series of still shots. It's a blueprint for the final trailer, essentially.
The end of the trailer simply says SimCity rather than SimCity 5. If this is legit, it means that Maxis is rebooting the series. It's been close to a decade since SimCity 4 so restarting the count isn't such a terrible idea.
Maxis is slated to host an event at GDC this week. If this trailer is legit, it's possible we'll see an announcement then.
