Sega and Three Rings have teamed up to create a new free-to-play MMO. Spiral Knights will be available to download on April 4th.

In Spiral Knights, players explore a labyrinth of dungeons known as the Clockworks. The game supports both solo play and co-op for up to four players. You can obtain new gear and upgrades through adventuring or purchasing Crystal Energy. Is Crystal Energy purchased with real-world money, maybe?

There's no mention of what platform Knights will be on. Three Rings' past projects were mostly limited to the PC, though, so that seems the likely choice.
