Vostok Games has made some big news about the free-to-play MMOFPS, Survarium. The game that was originally supposed to be the sequel S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat is now making progress and the team is seeking some willing alpha participants to help them test the game.
Survarium puts players in the charred remains of a post-apocalyptic society that sees gamers having to either work together or go at it alone in an attempt to survive the harsh realities of a mutant-ridden, anomaly-basked wasteland.
One thing worth noting is that, as showcased in the dev diary above, the character customization is very similar to what Dean “Rocket” Hall and crew is doing over at Bohemia Interactive with the DayZ standalone. Being able to outfit your character with various clothing materials and options that determine their efficiency and effectiveness in scouting and scavenging aspects of the wasteland is a pretty cool addition to the game.
You can check out previous dev diaries for the game, covering the environments and play mechanics as well as an actual breakdown as to why S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 up and died under the original GSC Game World label.
