For those on the lookout for a new online game featuring a heavy anime slant, you might want to check out Tales of Laputa, NGames' latest MMORPG which has now entered an open beta phase.

Sure, there are hundreds of MMOs out there and, nowadays, the vast majority of them are free-to-play, but how many of them offer six classes to choose from, a magical world to explore and pets to collect and train? Oh, quite a few of them, you say? Well, then I suppose adding one more to the pile can't hurt anything.

In the world of Laputa, man and machine co-exist in a society always on the brink of demonic invasion. Players can choose from six classes to play as, including the Warrior, Mage, Priest, Wizard, Sniper and Assassin, all with their own unique skills, gameplay styles and more.

Now that the closed beta is all wrapped up, NGames is ready to unleash Tales of Laputa upon the masses, beginning its open beta this weekend.

“We're delighted to launch the Tales of Laputa open beta,” said NGames PR Manager Tracy Wang. “The closed beta was a massive success. We can't wait to see the game grow as more players explore Laputa's adventure through their browsers.”

That's right! I totally forgot to mention that Tales of Laputa runs completely from within your browser, so you don't even need to download a client to get things rolling. Just head to the game's official website, register and get to questing.

For a limited time, anyone who joins in on the open beta will also receive a Newbie Pack free of charge, containing $8 worth of items to help players begin their adventures within the world of Tales of Laputa.
