Sega has announced that they're re-releasing Total War: Shogun 2 to stores. The Gold Edition of the strategy game will be released in North America, Europe and Australia.
Shogun 2 takes place in the 16th century Japan. Several clans are now fighting for control of the nation. Players take on the role of one of ten warlords and lead their clan to victory. They will build up their empire, conduct diplomacy, and send spies to investigate their rivals. When it comes time for battle, players will directly control their troops in real-time.
The North American Gold Edition also includes the main DLC released for the game. Rise of the Samurai is a new campaign based on the Gempei War, a conflict set 400 years before the events of the base game. " Its counterpart is Fall of the Samurai, a standalone expansion set in 19th century Japan in which traditional Samurai culture collides with modern technology.
The European and Australian version of the bundle features Fall and Rise, as well as all the smaller DLC packs. Here's the full list of this content:
- Dragon War Battle Pack
- Hattori ‘Ninja’ Clan Pack
- Ikko Ikki ‘Warrior Monk’ Clan Pack
- Otomo ‘Gunpowder’ Clan Pack
- Saga Clan Pack
- Obama Clan Pack
- Tsu Clan Pack
- Sendai Clan Pack
- Saints & Heroes Elite Unit Pack

The Gold Edition will hit stores in North America on March 5th. Europe and Australia will receive the re-release on March 8th.
