Subscribe To Warframe: Swords, Anime Art-Style And Lots Of Co-op Action Updates
A new free-to-play title from Digital Extremes was announced called Warframe, a mixed breed of melee sword fighting, deadly projectile weapons and anime-style special abilities. The game's character designs and suits look like a mix between Yoshiki Takaya's The Guyver and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's Evangelion.

Information on Warframe is limited but Blues has an official description of the game's story and gameplay, with the press release stating...
Set in the far reaches of outer space during a new Dark Age, WARFRAME introduces the Tenno, a race on the brink of extinction after being enslaved by the Grineer for centuries. Players enter WARFRAME on the cusp of the Grineer's victory over the Tenno until they begin to arm themselves with WARFRAMES - an ancient exo-skeletal technology only they can operate. Hidden within the Orokin Derelicts of a lost civilization, new WARFRAMES lie dormant and undiscovered. These artifacts are the Tenno's only hope for survival.

The premise sounds rad and the teaser trailer released for the game seems interesting. You can grab a glimpse of how the game will look with the new video below. Check it out.

Digital Extremes is probably best known as the group who handles multiplayer components for shooter games such as BioShock 2 and Unreal Tournament.

The free-to-play action-game market is crowded with a lot of "Me Too" games right now so it will be interesting to see how Warframe fits within this genre. The teaser trailer and descriptive info lends itself on the side of the game being an absolute must-play, especially as a co-op action title.

You can sign-up for the upcoming closed beta, which gets underway this fall, by paying a visit to the Official Warframe Website.
