It’s the first day of August, which means Jason Momoa is 40 years old today! The Aquaman actor seriously makes the “middle-aged” years look good! However, Momoa has recently made headlines for letting himself go a bit after his ripped superhero role made over $1.148 billion worldwide. Some internet haters shamed him for looking “fat” after a picture of him on vacation recently surfaced. But is he swimming in an ocean of tears? Here’s what Moma said about “Dad-Bod Gate”:

No. Not at all.

When TMZ asked Jason Momoa about rumors of his “dad bod,” he looked down confidently at his stomach, saying “no, it’s alright” before showing his lack of interest for the words about his physique. That’s right, Momoa! Bring in that body positivity! It’s not like he looked “fat” anyway. Just take a look at the picture in question:

While some negative talk of Jason Momoa's shape was loud, the support for how good he looks, even with his complete Aquaman look on vacation for the time being, was louder. The definition of what a “dad bod” really is was placed into questioned thanks to this photo. If Momoa’s figure is grounds for shaming, then the millions of dads who don’t even look at the gym have another thing coming.

I mean, here we are, probably sitting on the couch not being Jason Momoa, the DCEU's Aquaman, or vacationing at a beach, and we get to decide? No wonder the actor is ignoring the comments section!: As. He. Should.

Jason Momoa may be Aquaman, but he shouldn’t have to hit the gym and watch what he eats when he’s not on the clock. The actor won’t be suiting back up as the hero on the big screen for Aquaman 2 until December 16, 2022. This gives him plenty of time to get in and out of shape before he begins production on the DC movie. Right now, he can sit back, reach for some carbs if he wishes and enjoy life!

Jason Momoa is currently involved in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune remake as skilled swordsman Duncan Idaho. That movie hits theaters in December 2020. What the filmmaker refers to as “Star Wars for adults” has a star-studded cast including Josh Brolin, Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Starsgard, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem.

Before Aquaman’s writer/director James Wan dives into the sequel, he’ll be working on an undisclosed horror movie, and is also developing an Aquaman spinoff The Trench. The DC films division also has tons of movie projects on the way, with Joker (a non-DECU offering) later this year, Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 1984 in 2020, and The Batman and The Suicide Squad in 2021.

Until then, let’s all follow Jason Momoa’s lead by catching some sun and ignoring the negativity.
