Maroon 5's Star-Studded New Music Is Full Of Legendary Ladies
Maroon 5 pulled out all the stops for their latest music video. When it came time for the visual accompaniment to their single "Girls Like You," which premiered on their latest album, Red Pills Blue, the star-studded new video is a who's who of recognizable ladies. The group includes everyone from Gal Gadot to Jennifer Lopez to Millie Bobby Brown to Tiffany Haddish to Mary J. Blige to Ellen Degeneres, to only name a handful of noteworthy celebrities who appear in the widely-viewed video from the chart-topping pop rock band. It certainly wins the award for most celebrities in a 2018 music video. Take that money to the bank.
Check out the video and let us know if we forgot any celebs. There were quite a few.
Included in this new Maroon 5 music video (and forgive us if we forget anyone) are Cardi B (who is also featured in the song), Elizabeth Banks, Lily Singh, Camila Cabello, Rita Ora, Sarah Silverman, Ashley Graham, Chloe Kim, Danica Patrick, Ilham Omar and Aly Raisman. That's a whole bunch of cameos for one four-minute music video, and they were wise not to have anything else steal the attention. The video is filmed in spacious empty studio, with a spinning camera welcoming and exiting the revolving door of well-known ladies -- a mix of actresses, musicians, athletes and politicians -- featured in the music video. It also spotlights an appearance from Adam Levine's wife, Behati Prinsloo, and their 1-year-old daughter, Dusty Rose. This newest music video is directed by David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers, Shanghi Knights, The Change-Up), who previously helmed Maroon 5's 2015 music video for "Sugar" (which, subsequently, was so popular that it inspired a TV pilot) and their 2016 music video for "Don't Wanna Know."
The music video for "Girls Like You" is only the latest from Maroon 5. Earlier this year, the pop rock band released two music videos for "Wait" (one regular one and one for Snapchat, apparently). Meanwhile, last year, Maroon 5 released music videos for "Cold" and "What Lovers Do." "What Lovers Do," "Wait" and "Girls Like You" were all singles featured on Maroon 5's new album, the aforementioned Red Pills Blue, which came to stores in November. The brand new album is their sixth studio collaboration together, and it follows 2015's Singles.
Red Pills Blue was the first Maroon 5 album to feature Sam Farrar, who has now officially become a member of the popular pop band. We're not sure if the band is planning to release any new music videos soon, but it'll be tough to compete with the sheer volume of recognizable people found inside this one. That's for sure.
