Chris Pratt is now related to Arnold Schwarzenegger. Not sure about you, but that's my biggest takeaway from this wedding. The Guardians of the Galaxy's Star-Lord is now part of the Terminator and Kennedy families thanks to his marriage to Katherine Schwarzenegger. The two just got married on Saturday, June 8. On Sunday, they shared a photo from the "intimate, moving and emotional" event, which Pratt called "the best day of our lives":
Chris Pratt's Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was apparently at the wedding, since he has one of the many Instagram replies to Pratt's post, simply saying "‘Twas beautiful," while adding heart and uplifted hand emojis. Fellow Guardians of the Galaxy Karen Gillan replied with "Massive congrats!!!!!!!!!"
Gwyneth Paltrow, who apparently had to ask Chris Pratt who Sebastian Stan was at last year's Avengers: Infinity War premiere, replied with "YAY! I love this picture. So happy for you both!!" Paltrow also replied to Katherine's post of the same photo with "This is the sweetest!!!! Congratulations you love birds. Wishing you a life of happiness."
Chris Pratt's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom director JA Bayona also shared some applause and heart emojis. Shazam! star Zachary Levi crossed the Marvel-DC divide to share his love, replying to Chris Pratt's post with "Congrats you two!!!"
Chris Pratt, 39, and Katherine Schwarzenegger, 29, started dating about one year ago in the summer of 2018. According to People, they were married Saturday at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California.
Guests literally included Chris Pratt's Parks and Recreation co-star Rob Lowe, in addition to the expected family members -- like his 6-year-old son Jack with ex-wife Anna Faris, and Katherine Schwarzenegger's parents Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
People talked to someone at the wedding, who said guests had cocktails on the lawn while live music played. The reception food was light and local. Chris Pratt reportedly made a speech during the reception, thanking guests for joining them on this happiest day. Music at the reception was said to include Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic” and ”Uptown Funk," plus Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” Journey’s ”Don’t Stop Believin’,” and Miley Cyrus’ ”Party in the U.S.A."
It's possible Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger shared this official wedding photo to take attention away from the paparazzi shots of their nuptials. That's one downside of being famous. You can't even get married in peace. (Unless you star on The 100. Then you can marry your co-lead and no one will even know you had been dating.)
Hopefully Chris Pratt has enough time for an enjoyable honeymoon before heading back to work. After Avengers: Endgame, he has the Pixar movie Onward with Tom Holland. He has Jurassic World 3 scheduled to open in 2021, and we're waiting for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to start filming in 2020, with James Gunn back in the director's chair.
Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
