A Mini Boy Meets World Reunion Happened For Matthew Lawrence's Wedding Engagement

The world misses Boy Meets World, although that love wasn't enough to keep its spinoff on the air beyond three seasons. Regardless, people love to see the show's cast meeting up in real life every so often, and that's exactly what happened over the weekend at Matthew Lawrence's engagement party. Lawrence's former co-star Ben Savage was at the event and posed for a mini Boy Meets World reunion photo op that was nothing short of excellent.

That's right Boy Meets World fans, Shawn's dreamy half-brother Jack Hunter is officially off the market. Actor Matthew Lawrence (who knows something about famous brothers) asked frequent Dancing With The Stars dancer Cheryl Burke to marry him back in May, and the couple are just now getting around to celebrating that engagement. The two had a big soiree courtesy of Burke's friend and fellow DWTS competitor Kym Johnson, along with her husband and Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec. The fact that Ben Savage was there to celebrate the day was seemingly less of a substantial event, considering the event at large had all that other ABC talent there as well.

Still, Boy Meets World fans should and will appreciate these moments when they come, especially since these real life situations are the only way the show's cast can keep that fandom alive. That's a real shame, too, as neither Ben Savage nor Matthew Lawrence look all that different from when they did the show back in the day, which made Girl Meets World's generation gap seem almost impossible. In fact, one could make the argument these two look even better now than they did in this picture taken in 2000, not long after the show ended:

For those wondering if Matthew Lawrence is as charming and sweet as he was as Jack Hunter in Boy Meets World, he totally is. Us Weekly said Lawrence proposed to Cheryl Burke with the same ring her father Stephen used when proposing to her mother. Burke's father passed away in March before her own proposal could take place, so the moment was especially sentimental for the dancer. Burke described her year so far as an "emotional rollercoaster," on Instagram, but added the night of the party reminded her of the importance of celebrating the joy in life.

If anyone was so touched by Matthew Lawrence's engagement that they want to binge the entirety of Boy Meets World all over again, you can do so by heading over to Hulu.
