Listen, we all know that there is a certain dream Outlander spinoff which fans have been clamoring for, and which has been rumored, for quite a bit now. But, while we wait for final word on whether or not Starz is actually going to commit to giving the people more of Lord John Grey, we now have another way to look upon Outlander star Sam Heughan beyond the recently completed Season 5 of the series. Heughan and his former co-star, Graham McTavish (who played Jamie Fraser's uncle, Dougal MacKenzie) are now starring in the road trip docuseries, Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham.

While this might not be what any of us were expecting when looking forward to news of an Outlander spinoff, at least it looks like Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham is going to be some good, old fashioned road trip fun. Take a look at the trailer, which was posted on the Starz Twitter feed, and see if you don't agree:

I mean, come on! Which Outlander fans among us, who are currently trying to weather the long Droughtlander we have in store between Seasons 5 and 6, will not be eager to see Men in Kilts when it finally debuts?

As you can see, Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham, will follow Heughan and McTavish as they travel throughout Scotland to learn more about the country, its traditions and the historical events that shaped its people and everyone's favorite romantic time-traveling drama, Outlander. The duo created the eight-episode series of half hour installments, and executive produced it, along with Alex Norouzi, and were looking to "share their travels with the audience rather than simply guiding them."

Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish appeared on Good Morning America to talk about their new show, and when asked what fans can expect from the series, they answered:

McTavish: The real passion for me, and I think for Sam, was to really explore this wonderful character, which is Scotland. It's a huge character in Outlander, but for us, this was then a chance to really expand that further and to look into the history and the culture.Heughan: I think we both knew a lot about Scottish culture, but we wanted to know more. We learned things that we didn't know before. I wish I could do this every day. It's so fun.

Their travels will take them from Glencoe, home to the infamous massacre of members of the MacDonald clan in 1692, to Inverness and even the actual battlefield at Culloden, which should be of particular interest to Outlander fans far and wide.

We don't know just yet when Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham will air on Starz, so be sure to stay tuned to CinemaBlend for the latest. In the meantime, be sure to check out our 2020 Netflix guide, see what's new to Hulu in June and look into your options for summer TV!
