My Big Fat Fabulous Life Season 8 has been on a slow march towards tragedy in the first half of the season, but finally, the latest episode got to where Chase Severino revealed to Whitney Way Thore that he cheated on her. The situation was awful for Whitney for many reasons, but some fans latched on to the potential betrayal she felt by business partner Ryan Andreas.
To this point, it's been a mystery just how much Ryan knew of the situation, as he hadn't spoken much publicly about the situation overall. The latest episode revealed Ryan's experience over those past couple of days leading up to Chase telling Whitney, and what he did and didn't know about Chase's infidelity. Ryan said:
Chase told me about the baby I think just a couple of days before he told Whitney. He was pretty freaked out at first. I was probably just as freaked out for him as he was, but I didn't really want to show that to him. Obviously, my first thought is, 'What's Whitney going to think,' right? Chase is my best friend, Whitney is my business partner, so I'm kind of trying to walk the line between them. Support them both, be on both of their sides, but I'm not going to be in the middle of it.
In his conversation with Whitney Way Thore, Ryan Andreas admitted that he found out before her. The reason he didn't go directly to her was that Chase Severino asked him not to, and said he wanted to be the one to tell her first. As he stated, Ryan let Whitney know that Chase is still his best friend, but that didn't mean he didn't care about her and their business together.
When Whitney asked if he knew about when Chase Severino slept with the unnamed woman, Ryan Andreas said he was only aware of her long history with Chase. He was not aware that they were involved in any way in the recent months, though Whitney doubted whether or not Ryan would've admitted that to her in either case.
Whitney Way Thore's general distrust of Ryan Andreas in this situation showed on My Big Fat Fabulous Life and may be the beginning of where their professional relationship came to an end. It was revealed a couple of months back the two are no longer in business together, and it could be tied to Ryan's continued association and closeness with Chase Severino.
Whitney stated she was already uncomfortable having Ryan around, knowing he would know stuff she would want to know about Chase that he wouldn't tell her. In either case, it seemed like Ryan was just in the dark about the situation as Whitney, provided he was telling the truth. My Big Fat Fabulous Life airs on TLC Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. ET.
