Still haven't merged your World of Warcraft with a Battle.net account? According to Blizzard, you're going to need to do it in the next couple of weeks.
"After November 11, 2009, you won’t be able to log in to the game unless you merge your account with a Battle.net account," reads the updated FAQ for the new Battle.net. "You will need to log in using your Battle.net account username (your email address) and password." The new Battle.net allows players to create one account to manage all of their Blizzard games. WoW is the first game that will use the revamped service's new communication tools (such as cross-realm chat). You'll be able to chat with StarCraft II and Diablo III players when those games are released, as well. As an added bonus, Blizzard will give a free in-game penguin pet to anyone who rolls their existing WoW account into a new Battle.net account. The new account also allows you to register for the upcoming StarCraft II beta. |
