BlizzCon wouldn't be complete without an update on StarCraft II's upcoming expansion Heart of the Swarm. Blizzard realized this fact and released a new trailer with fresh cinematic and gameplay footage.

Heart of the Swarm picks up right after the end of Wings of Liberty's campaign. Sarah Kerrigan, apparently back to her human form, has been rescued by Jim Raynor. However, she's still part of the Zerg. She embarks on a quest to regain control of the swarm and seek revenge on Arcturus Mengsk.

The new single-player campaign adds new units to the game as well. The trailer shows a new arctic environment as well. All of these additions will be included in the multiplayer portion of the game.

Heart is expected sometime in 2012.
