Blue Oyster Cult Makes Warhammer Online Song Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning might not have the subscription numbers of World of Warcraft but developer EA Mythic can rest assured that they're at least winning the unofficial contest for Most Bizarre MMORPG Promotion. Members of WAR's development team and Blue Oyster Cult have teamed up to create a rock song based on the game.

"I’d heard a previous song written and performed by members of the WAR team, and thought they were quite good for a 'garage band' of game developers,” said Blue Oyster Cult lead vocalist Eric Bloom. “I was very glad to hear from Mythic who invited me down to work on the song. I was impressed by the dedication of the developers to make WAR both a success and fun to play, something that, in my opinion, is missing from many other MMOs.”

The song, called "‘Kiss My Axe (While I Drink My Beer)," is a tribute to Dwarf Slayers profession. Slayers were added to WAR along with Orc Choppas in a recent update. The new professions are part of an ongoing "Call to Arms" live expansion to the MMORPG.

EA Mythic's Lead Sound Artist Brad Derrick, Associate Producer Josh Drescher and Senior Creative Director Paul Barnett assisted Bloom and Richie Castellano with the song. You can download the mp3 here.
