All the cool kids are doing digital distribution these days and the latest company to succumb to peer pressure is Dell. The PC manufacturer has opened a website that sells music, games, and software digitally.
The software store offers a wide range of multimedia, anti-virus, leisure and office software. The games store, meanwhile, has an assortment of casual and "normal" games. It's not a huge games library but it does have some big titles like Crysis Warhead and Red Alert 3. The Dell Download Store is hosted at a British domain but it appears you can buy games and software from the site regardless of your location. The only restriction noted on the site is that music can only be bought by customers in the UK, Germany, and France due to "publishing and licencing agreements with our digital music partners." Apparently the site doesn't require you to download a client to make purchases so hey, one less thing to worry about. |
