Space sim MMO EVE Online will be down for 19 hours today. The extended downtime is needed to implement the game's 11th expansion, Dominion.

Dominion reworks the mechanics for alliance warfare in the game. New ships, career paths, mission arcs, and weapons as well. A huge amount of tweaking was done across the board, too. The full patch notes can be found here.

The scheduled downtime began at 02:00 GMT/UTC today. The game should be back up at 21:00 GMT/UTC (4 PM EST).
