Gran Turismo HD Trailer...Drift ChallengeAuthor: William Usher

Who wasn’t disappointed to find out that past GT games were going to be revamped to become GTHD? Wouldn’t it have been better if it was just delayed enough to become GT5? Or possibly GT5HD? But regardless of the series’ progression, you have to admit that Gran Turismo HD looks amazing. You can also check out a trailer showcasing the game’s spectacular drifting features.
Now there’s actually two versions in one game: Gran Turismo HD Classic and Gran Turismo HD Premium. The latter features graphics that own any racer on the market – only 30 cars are selectable with two playable tracks. It took the designers six months to design, model and engineer each car from the ground up. GTHD Classic features a massive car selection (would you expect any less?), 750 to be exact with 51 tracks. The game will also now feature Ferrari, a long time hardcase for Polyphony. The real catch to Gran Turismo HD, though, is that players can download extra content, cars, and parts for the game, expanding the play experience above and beyond the standard retail content. Both versions of the game have full on-line capabilities and there will be a host of game types and challenges available for players to participate in. Some of which include skilled cornering, drifting, or even time attacks. But most importantly, Polyphony Digital has really gone out of their way to sharpen Gran Turismo into one of the most realistic looking racing simulators ever. By comparison, I have to admit that GTHDP loops circles around Forza 2, visually. That’s not to say that Forza doesn’t look good – just in comparison to GTHDP, it’s owned. :) Check out the drift challenge video below.
