Kung Foo Enters Closed-Beta; Parodies MMOs

published: 2010-01-08 13:16:05
Perfect World Entertainment’s Kung Foo! has officially entered closed beta. The game is more like a parody on the traditional MMO genre, despite the fact that it is an MMO.

The company, Perfect World Entertainment, is probably best known for the highly popular Perfect World Online and the acclaimed movie-based MMORPG, Red Cliff Online. Their newest venture is a comically adept MMORPG penned by comic book writer Devin Grayson, who is known for her work on Batman: Gotham Knights and the Vertigo miniseries.

According to Devin Grayson, special guest writer for Kung Foo!...

“Kung Foo! has been a completely unique experience for me,” … “As a gamer myself, I wanted Kung Foo! to incorporate inside jokes for veteran players, but also to work as a primer for people completely new to the concept of playing this way online. One of my goals in writing Kung Foo! was to make the NPC dialogue compelling, so that players might actually look forward to handing in their quests instead of considering it part of the grind.”

You can check out a list of the game’s features below or visit the Official Website to find out more about this kung-fu parody MMORPG.
