Pro Pinball Kickstarter Launches, Offers Free Table
Virtual pinball has seen a resurgence as of late, spurred on by the recently released Pinball Arcade, as well as the handful of pin games developed by Zen Studios. The folks behind Pro Pinball hope that there is room for at least one more player, as they have recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to update their classic digital pinball series.
You can head on over to the Pro Pinball Kickstarter page for full details, award tiers, etc., but here’s a nice little summarization for you: Silverball Studios is trying to raise $400,000 to remaster Pro Pinball. The Kickstarter is at 388 backers as of this writing, totaling $44,298 in contributions with 23 days to go. Anyone who simply visits the Kickstarter page will be rewarded with an immediate download of the Big Race USA table. If you contribute more than $2, you’ll also earn the Fantastic Journey and Timeshock! tables when the campaign reaches its goal.
Outside of those three table,s the Pro Pinball reboot looks to revive and remaster the classic series of tables with four original classics to be released on PC, Mac, iOS and XBLA. Here’s the rundown from Silverball Studios reps.
According to Silverball CEO Adrian Barritt, the free Big Race USA table is a way of tiding possible contributors over until the game is finished sometime next year.
“We wanted to make sure that our backers received an instant thanks for getting behind us,” Barritt said. “Unlike other games projects where your money may be taken and it is months, or even years, before you get anything to play, we wanted to make sure our backers had these amazing originals to enjoy while we get to work remastering them for the new platforms.”
For pinball fans, throwing a few bucks towards a remastering of Pro Pinball seems like a no-brainer. If you’re still hesitant, you can always head on over to the Kicksterter page, see what the game is about, and even download that free table to see if this is something you feel like supporting.
