Viva Media announced that the official release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat for North America falls on February 2nd. Yeah, so all the waiting and brooding and the nail-biting can finally come to an end.

Viva Media CEO Carlo Voelker commented in the press release, saying…

“S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat is the third in the highly successful Shooter/RPG franchise developed by GSC Game World. The game opens up a dark world where players can immerse themselves into a gripping storyline full of action and suspense.”

The game features all the mutant zombie blasting and monster hunting gameplay players have come to love from the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. In addition to offering up enhanced gameplay based on the original, Call of Pripyat will be supporting DirectX 11. This really isn’t an important feature unless you’re a Windows fanboy, but I’m sure some people will like the game more for it.
