Weren't cool enough to get into the closed beta of Star Trek Online? Don't sweat it. You'll get a chance to try the game soon.

Cryptic announced today that the open beta for STO will begin on January 12th and run until January 26th. That gives you a couple months to upgrade that shoddy old PC of yours. Beta keys will be given out at startrekonline.com on a first come, first serve basis.

The closed beta commenced in October. They're still taking applications if you want to try your luck. The game officially launches on February 2nd in North America and on February 5th in Europe.
