Stronghold 3 Officially Goes Gold With New Trailer

Firefly Studios and 7sixty has announced that the third sequel in the popular castle-building strategy game has officially gone gold. Stronghold 3, attached to a franchise that has been around for nearly a decade, is done and finished and will be arriving on schedule for its October 25th release date.

Now I don’t know if the guys and gals at 7sixty know this or not but October 25th is a release date burial ground for any game that doesn’t have a fatigue-wearing marine on the cover and Frostbite 2.0 on the back of the box, especially if the rumors turn out to be true that DICE’s next-gen FPS will be appearing on Steam.

Nevertheless, if you’re a die-hard strategy fan then you’ll probably find yourself thoroughly excited about the upcoming release of Stronghold 3 no matter what triple-A titles surround its release. And to help reinforce the enthusiasm of strategy fans a new trailer was released showing off some of the game’s features and functions. You can check it out below.



One of the originators of the tower defense craze, Stronghold sees players building up fortifications against relentless foes in a number of different scenarios. The storyline for the newest game sees the return of The Wolf, as he seeks revenge against The Boy. Players will have to exercise wit and cunning against various levels of foes to defend and fortify their stronghold.

Jeff Hutchinson, VP interactive entertainment, 7sixty commented in the press release, saying…
