A very unlikely duo has joined forces; Joymax and DragonFly have teamed up to provide gamers the world around with some online multiplayer shooter action. Joymax, best known for F2P titles such as Dark Eden and Silk Road Online, announced today that one of the most highly anticipated shooters that has yet to come out will finally have a solid release date in multiple territories, including North America. The shooter I’m talking about is Karma Returns, also known under the ijji license as Karma: Operation Barbarossa, a World War II multiplayer, cooperatively-competitive, zombie FPS.
Joymax CEO Kwan Ho Park commented in the press release, saying… “Dragonfly is truly one of the pioneers in online FPS development,” ... “We are certain that both Special Force and KARMA Returns will be valued additions to our worldwide service, and we are dedicated to providing our users with the best possible action-packed experience across both titles.”Dragonfly is also the group that helped with Quake Wars Online. Now I can’t speak for Special Forces, but Karma was one of the most fun FPS games I’ve played in a long time…mixing in the likes of Brothers in Arms with Left 4 Dead. It also included a unique PvP-vs-PvE mode where Axis and Allies fought on the battlefield all whilst zombies attacked from various spawn points…toss in realistic WWII weapons, three different character classes and unlockable character traits, and you have yourself an insanely unique shooter. Both Special Forces and Karma Returns are scheduled for worldwide distribution courtesy of Joymax in late 2011. For more info be sure to visit the Official Website. |
