Internationl Dark Knight Poster Makes American Version Look Sad
I knew The Dark Knight teaser poster that Warner Brothers foisted on us a few weeks ago was pretty crappy, but I didn’t realize just how crappy until I saw the film’s incredible, eye-popping, international teaser poster.
Here in America we’ve been stuck with a piece of crap faux-brick thing with magic marker, or maybe it’s Colorforms (Come on, anybody remember Colorforms?), all over it. Overseas, they get a heart-stopping, panoramic piece of artwork which… unlike the American poster… gasp… actually has Batman on it. I guess the WB's overseas marketing departments, unlike their American one, are aware that the movie is supposed to be about Batman, and not the Joker. See both posters below for comparison. On the left is the domestic teaser poster we Americans have been stuck with. On the right, is the international teaser poster for The Dark Knight, courtesy of Omlete.com: |
