Tim Robbins And Will Forte Sign On For Jackie Brown Prequel Switch image
Switch, the upcoming prequel to Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, has undergone a bit of a casting shake-up, but the good news is that the talent leaving the project has been replaced by some equally great names. New reports have surfaced saying that Ty Burrell and Dennis Quaid have been forced to drop the Elmore Leonard adaptation, but they have already been replaced by Will Forte and Tim Robbins.

Set 15 years before Tarantino's blaxploitation riff, Switch follows the earlier adventures of Louis Gara (John Hawkes, taking over for Robert De Niro) and Ordell Robbie (Yasiin Bey, taking over for Samuel L. Jackson) as they get caught up in a kidnapping scheme up in Detroit. The pair of criminals orchestrate a plan to take the wife of a corrupt real estate developer (Jennifer Aniston), but have their plans foiled when it turns out the husband doesn't want her back. From there Louis and Ordell decide to team up with the wife for a bit of payback. Variety, which first reported the casting news, says that Robbins will now take over the part of the real estate developer while Forte will play a man who has a serious crush on the wife and "spends most of the film in a moral dilemma after witnessing her kidnapping." Writer/director Dan Schechter is tackling the project, which also has Isla Fisher attached to play the part of Melanie (originated by Bridget Fonda).

Production is gearing up to start next month, though it's unknown at this time when the movie might find a release date.
