Launching early next week, Forza Horizon 3 has long-time fans and newcomers alike just itching to step behind the wheel of the latest entry in this storied driving series. Thankfully, there's a new gameplay trailer available to help make that wait feel a little more excruciating.
Arriving this coming Tuesday, Sept. 27, for Xbox One and Windows PC, Forza Horizon 3 is quite literally just over the horizon. Forza fans already know that they're in for something special, as the developers at Playground Games have never really steered the series wrong. But early reviews for this one have already started rolling out and, judging by the ridiculously high scores, it looks like folks are in for another solid romp once the rubber meets the road.
In case you weren't aware of the accolades Forza Horizon 3 has received up to this point, the official launch trailer does a good job of serving as a reminder, all while showing off some absolutely beautiful gameplay footage.
For starters, it raked in a whole bunch of E3 awards, beginning with the overall Best Racing Game. The trailer opens with that fact, followed by a list of nearly 30 other honors the game has received pre-launch.
Own back thoroughly patted, a moment of calm is followed by nearly a minute of screaming engines and swerving vehicles. I know I literally just said this, but it really can't be overstated how good Forza Horizon 3 looks in motion. The cars look great, the courses look great and it looks like this one will, once again, drive like a dream.
The adventure begins off-road, with a bunch of buggies and the like screaming across sand, water and through trees before a bunch of sports cars take up the baton and head down some city streets.
The typical racing game montage follows, with a little bit of everything racing across the screen in various locations including the desert, a race festival, etc. We see a couple gorgeous vistas and a handful of not-so-lucky drivers flipping their cars.
As far as trailers go, it's short, sweet and definitely gets the job done. If you aren't eager to play Forza Horizon 3 after watching this, then racing games just might not be for you.
If you simply can't wait until this coming Tuesday to play the full games, the team at Xbox are kind enough to drop in a reminder that the Forza Horizon 3 demo is available for download right now. Or you could just grab Forza Horizon 2 on the cheap to tide you over, we suppose. Otherwise, we'll see you on the road in a few days.
