Two Video Games That Are Massively Popular Porn Search Terms

Overwatch

There is an undeniable law of the internet known as Rule 34, which states that "if it exists, there is porn of it." As it turns out, two of the biggest game franchises of 2016 have resulted in more than their fair share of content in this regard. A host of new information has been released regarding what people are looking for when it comes to their pornography and it turns out that what they want is a little bit Pokemon and a whole hell of a lot of Overwatch.

Website PornHub, which, as I understand it, is a site on which one can actually view pornography, released their 2016 year in review and among the numerous details were some that are of interest to the world of video games. The biggest detail is that, according to this information, the word Overwatch is the eleventh most popular search term on the site. In fact, it is the only new search term to break the top 20 at all. In addition to being popular on a global scale, it was also the single most popular porn search term in a few different countries including Brazil and Russia.

It's not news that Overwatch has been an inspiration for those who would like to see several of its characters involved in a different sort of physical altercation. It became such an issue for Overwatch publisher Blizzard that they have taken legal action against many of those responsible for creating the material. Unfortunately for them, the law really only let them take down the work of those who used the game's actual art assets to create the videos. Those who created their own are protected under fair use guidelines, as are those at Brazzers who produced their own live-action parody scene.

Live action porn parodies tend to crop up based on anything that's in the popular imagination. Still, it was a little bit surprising when Brazzers produced their own Pokemon Go related porn parody as well. At least the vast majority of the characters in Overwatch are human. However, Pokemon also became a very popular search in a number of countries around the world, specifically in Central and South America, where it was #3 in Argentina and #8 in Mexico.

While we're sure that there's porn related to pretty much every video game franchise out there - we'd assume, we haven't looked or anything - It's clear that Overwatch has achieved a level of popularity in that regard that most games never reach. Exactly why isn't honestly all that clear. It's true that the characters of the game, some of the women especially, have some fairly outrageous proportions, but the same can be said of most female video game characters. Overwatch seems to have, well, stimulated something specific here.

In case you're curious, the most popular search term on PornHub is the word lesbian, which, when combined with Overwatch would seem to imply that not everybody is as upset with the recent revelation regarding Tracer as they may have otherwise implied.
