Subscribe To WoW: Ten Million Strong And Growing Updates

It’s official: World of Warcraft is spreading faster than the vicious Bubonic Plague of yore. In a press release issued today, Blizzard announced that it’s award-winning, time-consuming and all-around more-addictive-than-crack MMORPG has reached the 10 million mark with its subscribers, thanks largely in part to thousands more joining up after the holiday season. The title now holds more than 2 million subscribers in Europe, 2.5 million in North America and a whopping 5.5 in Asia.

CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment Mike Morhaime stated, "It's very gratifying to see gamers around the world continuing to show such enthusiasm and support for World of Warcraft. We're always pleased to welcome new players to the game, and we're looking forward to sharing the next major content update with the entire community in the months ahead."

With 10 million subscribers in under four years, Blizzard’s success with Warcraft is nothing short of phenomenal. Now, with the company hard at work on the game’s second expansion pack, Wrath of the Lich King, along with their merger with gaming giant Activision, don’t be surprised if the company’s subscriber base grows even faster in the next four.
