After what has seemed like an eternity of waiting and flipping through the same screenshots over and over again, Rockstar has finally provided gamers with a light at the end of the tunnel and given Grand Theft Auto IV a release date. The company will release the latest installment of it's hugely-anticipated action-adventure sandbox title worldwide on April 29th, 2008 for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Founder and CEO of Rockstar Games Sam Hauser said, "We are so excited to be releasing Grand Theft Auto IV. We've pushed ourselves very hard to make something incredible and hope the game sets a new benchmark for interactive entertainment."

Originally scheduled for release in October of last year, many fans were a bit sore about the news when Rockstar first announced the delay and rumors swirled about the "technological problems," which were immediately attributed to having to program the game's code for the PS3. Now it appears that there was some truth to the rumors all along as Jeronimo Barrera of Rockstar stated, "It's really no surprise to anybody that the PS3 was definitely a contributing factor to that. Back then that was something we were taking into account. That's not to say there's anything wrong with the PS3 version. It's awesome. They're both [PS3 and Xbox 360] identical."

From the latest screens of the game, it's safe to say all will be forgiven on April 29th as Rockstar appears to have taken their time to perfect the game and give gamers exactly what they want with the next title in the now-legendary series.
