Airmech Beta Heads To Steam, Brings The Sexy Back To Mecha-RTS Games

It seems like we've had a drought on original mecha games lately. The last unique mecha title that comes to mind is Platinum Games' Vanquish. Well, if you're looking for another unique mecha game to fondle with your keyboard and mouse skills, Carbon Games' Airmech just might be the game you're looking for.
The isometric, RTS-action title is a multiplayer game that can be played either cooperatively or competitively. It sports transforming mechs that can be played as aerial bombardiers or as ground assault troops with fast-paced Metal Slug-style action to be spread around. You can check out the gameplay in a new trailer to commemorate the launch of the open-beta, below.
I like the concept behind this game, it reminds me a little bit of RF Online or an isometric version of Age of Armor.
The transforming aspects are also pretty neat, giving Dynasty Warriors: Gundam fans a bit of something to look forward to. The customization and combat mechanics are also a welcomed feature, giving RPG enthusiasts to keep on battling and earning new gear.
You can sign-up for the beta right now or pre-order the bundle pack from Steam by paying a visit to the Airmech Official Website. Carbon Games' free-to-play title is set for release this September on PC. You can also check out a really neat walkthrough of the game from HuskyStarCraft in a snazzy video below. Enjoy.
