Sparkplay Media announced today that their 3D, browser-based MMORPG, Earth Eternal, is now entering open-beta. The game is being described as a fully interactive, immersive MMORPG that gives players the opportunity to experience all the fun of a big-league MMO without the hassle of a paid subscription.

According to the press release, Matt Mihaly, CEO and founder, Sparkplay Media commented, saying…
"With Earth Eternal, we’re raising the bar for browser-based MMOs, while simultaneously lowering the barriers to entry," ... "We’ve stripped away roadblocks like subscription fees and massive downloads that discourage many people from playing MMO games. At the same time, people are going to be surprised by the sophistication and depth we’re offering in a free-to-play game that runs in the browser.”

Intriguing? Well, definitely. The game also sports 22 character races, four different classes, customizable characters and a microtransaction module for players who want to purchase some high-class equipment and character cosmetics. The other neat part about the game is that market items can eventually be acquired in the game with a little hard work and dedication.
