This month Rockstar Games will release the mobile edition of Max Payne. The handheld remake of the PC shooter will be a timed exclusive for the iOS but will make its way to Android devices soon afterward.

Max Payne Mobile updates the 2001 shooter with new high-res graphics. It also integrates the Rockstar Social Club in some unknown way. Players will be able to customize the controls to their liking, too.

The iOS version will go live on April 12th. It supports the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4, iPad 1, iPad 2 and the new iPad. Screenshots of this version are below. Half are from the iPad edition.

(Side note: why doesn't Apple use the term "iPad 3"? What's with this "the new iPad" business? It's the third iPad. I'm sure it's so great that it transcends numbers and all but...it's third. Deal with it)

The Android edition is expected on April 26th. The list of supported devices will be announced closer to that date.
