For those of you who enjoy heading into anomalous zones and searching out artifacts amongst the dangers of anomalies in games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., you'll probably really dig a game like SZone Online, which is basically a 1:1 MMO rendition of the popular Ukrainian post-apocalyptic survival game, similar to Vostok Games' Survarium.
CTS Games is centering the concept and gameplay around GSC Game World's S.T.A.L.K.E.R, but it's actually based on the book Roadside Picnic by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. The game is being designed on Bigworld Technology's highly scalable network engine, as well as Umbra Software and IDV's Speedtree technology.
As showcased in the video above, the game has a fairly decent graphics center and some solid shooting mechanics working at the base.
Much like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., gamers will scavenge through an open world environment looking for artifacts, decking their character out in some awesome equipment and surviving in a harsh, mutant-infested world. The aesthetic and gameplay style is practically identical to GSC Game World's popular series and you can obviously see just how close, as an MMO, SZone harnesses the established mechanics already setup in the popular S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
