The werewolf hunting, tower-defense, RPG called Sang-Froid from French-Canadian game developers Artifice Studios has officially launched. The indie title that sees players trying to protect their land from vicious werewolves is currently available on Steam right now for the low price of $14.99 after successfully being greenlit on Steam.

The game is based on folktale lore and borrows a bit from Bram Stoker's Dracula, insofar that two beefy brothers have put aside their rivalry to save their ill-begotten sister who is falling into the grasp of the devil, and minions of the night are out to pursue her and it's up to the two brothers to protect their sisters and stay alive.

Even with a neat narrative similar to the Ginger Snaps movies, the game itself is what really sells the idea. The Canadian winter-scapes and icy tundra work as the backdrop to this mythic tale of sibling love and a desperate need to stay alive. Draped in lots of shamanism and tales of old, Sang-Froid is one of those rare games where the biggest selling point is the atmosphere itself.

What's more is that this tower-defense title is as much about strategy as it is tricky finger work and fast reflexes. The mix of isometric hack-and-slash, third-person over-the-shoulder shooting and timed strategic attacks using traps all mesh to create a very unique gaming experience.

If you're looking for a story-driven tower-defense game, not unlike Dungeon Defenders, be sure to check out Sang-Froid: A Tale of Werewolves. You can learn more about the game by paying a kind visit to the Official Website.
