Do you hear that sobbing sound coming from your pocket? That's your wallet crying. Steam's annual holiday sale has begun, offering a selection of tempting discounts for the next two weeks.
Today's set of deals include the Borderlands, Prince of Persia and Hitman franchises. Borderlands 2 and Hitman: Absolution, both released this fall, are 50% off for the next two days. The older games in each series have been marked down by 75%. Every Prince of Persia game is 75% cheaper during the same time period.
Steam also highlighted some lesser-known games today. First-person platformer Mirror's Edge is $5 today. Innovative puzzle game Scribblenauts Unlimited's price has been cut from $29.99 to $19.99. The sixth sale is on WW3 real-time strategy Wargame: European Escalation, now $9.99 instead of the usual $39.99.
Throughout the next two weeks, Steam is also running flash sales. For example, Batman: Arkham City - Game of the Year Edition is $7.50 until Friday morning. New flash sales will be added daily, giving you a reason to keep checking the store. Diabolical.
Large publisher bundles will be available at a discount for the duration of the holidays. For example, the Square Enix bundle lets you buy every SE title on Steam for $89.99. Individual titles in these bundles also have reduced prices as well.
New sales will be added from December 20th to January 4th. All discounts will end on January 5th.
