Vostok Games, former members of GSC Game World and at one point the same minds behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, have revealed their second developer diary for their upcoming title, Survarium.
Survarium is basically re-do of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 since there was this huge fallout and breakdown over the IP rights and we all know that IP disputes can drag on and on and on. So to prevent their talents from going into limbo, GSC Game World converted some of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2's assets into the game, Survarium, and shutdown the studio only to reform as Vostok Games.
A few of the key developers talk about the upcoming survival-shooter and a few of the game modes that it will include.
I'm finally glad they're adding co-op. It was something a lot of people felt would ruin the immersion of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but there are a few people I play with where I think the immersion would stay intact and the thrills would be just as intense, if not more-so considering that you're no longer just trying to keep yourself alive but also your buddies. Let's also not forget that with co-op you have to gear up more people than just yourself, making survival that much more difficult.
The free-play mode also sounds intriguing, especially with up to 30 people running around trying to survive the zone while mutants and creates rummage about.
Survarium is quite a ways off from release so there is plenty of time for Vostok Games to iron out the kinks. You can learn more by paying a visit to the game's Official Website.
