Regarding Half-Life 3...the rumors, the speculation, the trolling...it all got out of hand. In fact, it got so far out of hand that Valve has now stepped in to lay to rest all the talk regarding Half-Life 3 and all the ridiculous rumors and trolling that's been going on.

According to Valve's Chet Faliszek, all the internet hubbub over Half-Life 3 is erroneous because there is no Half-Life 3. GamingBolt picked up on the following quote from Chet, saying...
You are being trolled.

There is no ARG.

Wheatley’s speech was set in Portal 2 fiction – that is all.

There has been no directive from Gabe to leak anything. That is all false.

I just want to say this so there is no confusion. This is the community trolling the community nothing more. While it is nice to see people excited about anything HL, I hate seeing people be trolled like this.

Well there you have it. All that stuff about Half-Life 3, an ARG, etc., etc., it's all bollocks. It's basically been the interweb trolls coming out of the woodworks to do what they do best.

The stupid part about it is that this all started because of Valve. Yes, that's right...Valve started the trolling. One of their employees went to a developers-only event sporting a Half-Life 3 t-shirt. After that point all it took was that one photo to get just about everyone riled up.

Chet, really man, if you didn't want to see people get trolled like this why did you guys start the trolling with the t-shirt?!? I mean, what did you really expect to happen...really?
