I’ve never been a big fan of real-time strategy games, usually the person who can farm more units than me wins. Nevertheless, for those of us who aren’t very skilled at farming units in RTS games, a new free-to-play MMORTS has arrived called World of Battles which infuses skill-based elements from World of Warcraft with strategy based tactical command and control from a game like Warhammer 40k.

A new gameplay trailer was released for the MMO, which is recently entered open beta and has garnered more than 100,000 players already. Pretty impressive, eh? Well…it’s no 11 million subscribers like World of Warcraft but that doesn’t matter.

The unique thing about World of Battles is how players can customize and outfit their very own, persistent army. The weapons, armor and special skills available are entirely at the player’s disposal and can be mix and matched to create some truly amazing results.
