The World Ends With You was one of the most well-received RPG's ever released for the DS. Two years later, there's no word of a sequel but TWEWY director Testuya Nomura wants to make it.
"I'm really happy that the game was so well received in North America," said Nomura in a chat with Nintendo Power. "I definitely want to make a sequel. I'm very busy working on other titles right now, but when the time is right, I would love to make another installment of The World Ends with You."
His plate is pretty full. In the coming months two of his projects, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, will hit stores. However, he's also involved in the development of Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Final Fantasy Agito XIII and The 3rd Birthday. The release windows for those games haven't been nailed down yet so it may be awhile before The World Ends With You 2 comes to fruition.
